Jan Lausen

Education & Career
Born in Freiburg, Jan grew up in Münsterland and studied law in Bonn and Cologne. Jan obtained his LL.M. at the Mainz Media Institute.
His spectrum of work at KINAST includes employee and customer data protection, software due diligence, telematics and Industrial Internet of Things. He is also experienced in amny related areas of law, such as e-commerce and competition law. In addition, Jan takes on contract drafting, reviewing and negotiating activities of software and provider contracts.
In addition to providing legal advice, Jan works as an integrated part of the legal and compliance department of a US corporation within the scope of a client secondment. In this context, he advises on the implementation of group-wide transnational IT processes and supports internal and external IT projects. Furthermore, he is responsible for the project management of group-wide implementation projects for the legal harmonization of internal processes as well as the implementation of the Schrems II decision and the new requirements in the area of international data transfer.
As a direct result of this placement, Jan has direct insights and practical knowledge of economic contexts and business considerations, which he incorporates into his consulting to develop legally compliant and at the same time pragmatic, business-oriented solutions for his other clients.
